2. Data protection on this website

This privacy policy explains which personal data are processed when you visit my website or contact me, the purposes of that processing and your rights.

Personal data are information that can identify you personally, such as your email address or IP address.

Where necessary, you will receive additional information about the processing of personal data in connection with any subsequent mediation, consultancy or other work together.

3. Hosting and technical access data

This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. I also use IONOS for email communication.

When you access this website, technical data transmitted by your browser to the server are processed. These include, in particular:

  • the page or file requested;
  • the date and time of access;
  • your browser type and operating system;
  • the previously visited page, if transmitted by your browser;
  • your IP address and technical details of the request.

These data are required to deliver the website, ensure its secure and stable operation, and detect technical errors or misuse.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). My legitimate interest is to provide this website securely and reliably.

IONOS processes hosting and email data as a technical service provider. Information about data protection at IONOS is available here:

Data protection at IONOS

IONOS retains server logs for a maximum of eight weeks. They are then deleted.

4. Contact by email, telephone or contact form

If you contact me, I process the information you provide to deal with your enquiry and respond to you. This includes your contact details, the content of your message and any further information you choose to share.

Your email address and message are required when using the contact form. Providing your name is optional. Without valid contact details, I cannot reply to you. You are not obliged to use the contact form.

Information submitted through the form is forwarded to me by email so that I can deal with your enquiry.

Where your enquiry concerns entering into or performing a contract for my services, the processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. For other enquiries, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is to respond appropriately to enquiries.

I retain your information for as long as necessary to deal with your enquiry. It is then deleted unless statutory retention obligations or legitimate grounds require further retention. Such grounds may include, in particular, the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

When first contacting me, please provide only a general outline of your situation. In particular, please avoid sharing sensitive health data or confidential information about children or other people. We can agree on a suitable method for sending more detailed documents.

5. YouTube videos and your consent

This website contains embedded YouTube videos. The service provider for the European Economic Area is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

I use Embed Privacy to prevent data from being transmitted automatically when you open a page. You initially see a placeholder instead of the video. A connection to YouTube is established only when you expressly allow the video to load.

This may involve transmitting your IP address, information about your browser and device, and details of the page accessed and your use of the video to Google. YouTube may use cookies or similar storage technologies. If you are signed in to your Google account, usage information may be associated with your account. Google may process data for purposes including providing its services, analytics, and personalising content and advertising.

The video is loaded and the associated data are processed on the basis of your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Where information is stored on or accessed from your device and consent is required for this, Section 25(1) of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG) also applies.

You can use this website without allowing YouTube videos to load.

If you choose to allow YouTube content on an ongoing basis, Embed Privacy stores your choice in a cookie for one year. You can withdraw this permission at any time below by unticking the YouTube box. Withdrawal applies to future visits; it does not reverse any data transfers that have already taken place.

Permission for external content

Untick the box to withdraw your ongoing permission.

Withdrawal takes effect for the future. It does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.

When you use YouTube, data may also be transferred to the United States and other countries outside the European Economic Area. For these transfers, Google refers, among other safeguards, to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for appropriately certified recipients and to the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Further information about processing, retention periods and settings is available from Google:

6. Links to LinkedIn and the Bundesverband Mediation

This website contains links to my LinkedIn profile and my profile with the Bundesverband Mediation, the German Federal Mediation Association.

These are links to external websites. Clicking a link takes you away from my website. The respective provider is responsible for any subsequent data processing. Please refer to that provider’s privacy information.

7. Recipients and protection of your data

Where necessary for the technical operation of this website and for handling your enquiries, data are processed by the hosting and email service providers I use. The specific features of data processing by YouTube are described in Section 5.

Otherwise, I disclose personal data only where there is a legal basis for doing so, such as your consent or a statutory obligation.

This website uses HTTPS to encrypt transmission between your browser and the web server. Ordinary email communication, however, is not automatically end-to-end encrypted.

8. Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have the following rights:

  • Access: You can obtain information about the personal data I process about you.
  • Rectification: You can request the correction of inaccurate data and the completion of incomplete data.
  • Erasure: You can request the deletion of your data where there are no legal grounds preventing deletion.
  • Restriction: Under certain conditions, you can request that processing be restricted.
  • Data portability: You can receive data you have provided, and which are processed by automated means on the basis of consent or a contract, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
  • Withdrawal of consent: You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.

To exercise your rights, please use the contact details provided above.

Right to object to processing

Where I process your data on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.

I will then stop processing the personal data concerned unless I can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

If you believe that the processing of your personal data infringes data protection law, you may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the country of your habitual residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.
